Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!! This phrase will be repeated numerous times in the next 24 hours, as we mark the transition from one year to the next, bid farewell to 2013 and welcome 2014. Many of us will begin the year by resolving to start, stop, and change behaviors that we believe will somehow enrich our lives. We make exhaustive lists of goals that we want to achieve in the areas of fitness, health, finances, as well as others. While these promises are admirable, the reality, for many, is that, despite our good intentions, our resolutions will be abandoned before the end of January! Often times, our behavior is driven by unplanned events that are totally unexpected.

Undoubtedly, the 2014 holds both welcome surprises and challenging circumstances for each of us. Our ability to cope with unplanned events is directly attributed to our sense of resilience and skills in bouncing back from unexpected occurrences.
